Emilio assumes the position of President of SMG/USA effective August 1, 2009. He brings a breath of experience that combines government investigative and management experience with private sector expertise. Emilio initiated his federal law-enforcement career in 1973 with the Drug Enforcement Administration. He served in a variety of operational and managerial positions to include:

Upon his retirement in 1999 he accepted the position of Vice-President/Law-Enforcement for S.O. Si International- a major Government Contractor specializing in recruiting individuals with Top Secret clearance for assignments in various government agencies.In 2001, he became Deputy Director and then Director Anti-Piracy Operations for IFPI/Latin America representing the Music Industry. He was responsible for all Anti-Piracy, Fraud and Intellectual Property Rights investigations for the major music companies such as Sony-BMG, EMI, Universal and Warner Music throughout Latin America. Emilio is a graduate of the John Jay college of Criminal Justice with a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. He is a fluent Spanish speaker and speaks Portuguese on an intermediate level.
